I'm the director of Blue Squirrel Software, based in Worcester. We build custom software for businesses that have outgrown off-the-shelf tools, and we advise businesses who are about to make significant software decisions and want an independent view before they commit.

I've been doing this long enough to know that most software problems aren't really software problems — they're the result of buying the wrong thing, or building before the thinking was done. A fair amount of what I do is stop that from happening.

Blue Squirrel Software is an independent software consultant and developer based in Worcester. We either build custom software from scratch or help businesses make better decisions about the software they buy — giving honest, independent advice before anything gets signed or built. We don't take referral fees and we're not tied to any platform or vendor.

If a standard tool will do the job, we'll say so. If it won't, we'll build something that does.
